The programme commenced with a special warm-up and fitness session for the participants led by Fit India Influencer Smt. Anita Solanki. Thereafter, SAI CRC Bhopal Regional Director Shri Gaurav Rawat flagged off the plogging rally.
During the drive, participants collected waste and litter found along the Lower Lake route and around the waterbody while undertaking the plogging activity. Through this initiative, they conveyed the message of cleanliness, physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
Speaking on the occasion, SAI CRC Bhopal Regional Director Shri Gaurav Rawat said:
“Swachh Bharat is the responsibility of every citizen and calls for collective participation. Sports and fitness inspire people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, while activities like plogging connect fitness with our social responsibility towards cleanliness. Organising this campaign at an important natural landmark of our city like Lower Lake is an effort to promote cleanliness along with fitness and contribute towards fulfilling Mahatma Gandhi Ji’s vision of a Swachh Bharat.
We specifically chose this location because many of our national and international athletes train here. Keeping this waterbody clean is our responsibility. Through this initiative, we want to convey the message that people should maintain cleanliness in and around their surroundings, make cleanliness a part of their daily routine and spread the message of cleanliness all around.”
