Indian Ambassador Inspects Facilities for Hajj Pilgrims
India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Khan, on Thursday inspected the facilities set up for the smooth travel of Indian Hajj pilgrims and met with the pilgrims to understand any potential challenges they might be facing.
The Indian Embassy in Riyadh shared pictures of Dr. Khan’s inspection tour on social media platform X, stating, “Ambassador Dr. Suhel Khan met pilgrims from various Indian states in Makkah today and inquired about their welfare and concerns. The Government of India is committed to ensuring the convenience and safety of Indian pilgrims and making their spiritual Hajj journey hassle-free.”
In another post, the embassy said, “Ambassador Khan inspected various functional desks, branch offices, and dispensaries established in Makkah to serve Indian pilgrims. He was accompanied by Consul (Hajj) Mr. Muhammad Abdul Jaleel and other coordinators.”
The embassy also stated that Ambassador Dr. Khan and Consul (Hajj) Jaleel conducted a comprehensive review of transport arrangements in Azizia, Makkah. It added that the Azizia transport services are operating smoothly and that the Indian Hajj Mission is providing pilgrims with 24-hour transportation from their residences to the Haram Sharif.
It is noteworthy that India’s total Hajj quota for this year is 175,000 pilgrims. The first batch of Indian pilgrims departed from Srinagar on May 4. In addition to the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, the Indian Consulate General in Jeddah has also undertaken several extra measures to ensure a well-organized and comprehensive Hajj operation.
