Samrat Vikramaditya University Celebrates Guru Purnima Festival
On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Samrat Vikramaditya University, Ujjain, in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education, Ujjain Division, organized the Guru Sandipani Felicitation Ceremony at the newly inaugurated Geeta Bhavan Auditorium.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Chairman of the Executive Committee (EC) of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), emphasized the significance of Guru Purnima in India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. He stated that the guidance of a guru makes it easier to understand concepts and acquire knowledge, which is why Guru Purnima holds a special place in the Sanatan tradition and Indian culture.
The event, held at Shri Geeta Bhavan Auditorium on Dewas Road, near Government Madhav Science College, was presided over by Prof. Arpan Bhardwaj, Vice-Chancellor of Samrat Vikramaditya University, Ujjain. During the ceremony, the University honored more than 40 retired professors from universities and colleges for their invaluable contribution to higher education.
In his presidential address, Prof. Arpan Bhardwaj said that Guru Purnima is not only a day to pay tribute to teachers but also an occasion to reaffirm one’s dedication and gratitude towards one’s alma mater and educational institutions.
The celebration also featured vibrant cultural performances presented by students, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion.
